Managing Director
Owner Sean Hoare took over the running of ECL from his father, Tommy Hoare, in 1993. Over the years, he has helped to grow the company from a small groundworks business to a nationwide firm with an annual turnover of more than £100m. A strong believer in the training and development of staff, Sean ensures his team are always safe and given the tools they need to complete their work to the highest expectations and standards that ECL strive for.
Managing Director
Having successfully sold his previous business, T&W Civil Engineering, in 2007, Steve came on as a Director in 2010. Thanks to Steve’s help and drive for success, the company has seen an extensive period of organic expansion with a greater number of larger projects being taken on and successfully delivered, contributing to the company’s impressive £100+ annual turnover in 2018.
Health & Safety Director
Barry ensures that ECL’s strong health and safety culture is driven from the very top to achieve the highest standards. As a health & safety professional, with over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry, he has worked extensively with tier one contractors & as a safety consultant for some of the largest groundworks & RC frames contractors.
A Chartered Civil Engineer with over 25 years of varied contracting experience, his operations experience is extensive and diverse. He would consider himself a specialist in the delivery of heavy civil engineering and highway schemes. Steve prides himself on leading by example and motivating others, advising ECL’s teams to always strive for continuous improvement of standards and clients’ ultimate satisfaction.
