We’re looking for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our HSEQT Department.

Responsibilities and Duties 

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will be required to carry out a variety of duties including: 

  • Advise and carry out site audits on health, safety, environment, quality and training assurance.
  • Investigate health, safety and environmental incidents.
  • Complete regular site inspections. 
  • Manage, develop and ensure compliance with our Health & Safety procedures and policies.
  • Provide advice and guidance to site management teams on health & safety matters.
  • Deliver in-house training as required, including face fit testing and inductions for new employees and contractors.
  • Attend Health & Safety progress meetings, including client consortium meetings advising on the coordination of the works and any HSEQT implications that require addressing
  • Develop and review of the Construction Phase Plan, site-specific risk assessments and method statements, and traffic management plans throughout the project

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ 5 in Occupational Safety and Health (Preferred)
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • On-site experience in a Civil Engineering/Ground-Works environment (Vital)
  • Experience in Environmental Management in a construction environment (Desirable)
  • An excellent understanding of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Risk Management, legislation and industry standards
  • An understanding and application of administrative processes for Principal Contractor and Contractor as required by CDM 2015 Regulations
  • Understanding and application of administrative processes for Temporary Works
  • Understanding and application of administrative processes for New Roads and Streetworks Activities
  • Hold a current UK Driving Licence and CSCS card
  • Have suitable PC Skills using Microsoft Office software
  • Willingness to travel
