Owls U7’s Are Competition Ready
As a business, we value the relationships we form within our local communities, and it’s always rewarding to help young athletes and see them develop within their chosen sport.
This year, we are thrilled to start sponsorship of The Raynsford Owls Under 7’s Boys Football team.
The Under 7s team has enthusiastically headed into its first competitive year, and with the fantastic support of their dedicated coaches, husband-and-wife team Jamie and Ann Sharp, we have no doubt that they will smash it.
Raynsford FC, The Owls are a school football team based in Henlow. They have been training as a group since 2022 and finally played their first competitive match this May.
Jamie Sharp, the team coach, commented,“The Owls hadn’t played competitively until a tournament in May 2023. They were playing against teams who had been playing matches for much longer, and even so, the boys had done incredibly well.”
After a summer of playing friendlies, the team have now entered The Mid Beds Mini League, a school league that plays on Saturday mornings in Bedfordshire.
Jamie Sharp added,
“Despite their initial lack of experience, the boys have done superbly well so far, narrowly losing a couple of games and winning 4. But most importantly, they are improving week on week, gaining vital experience and having fun with their friends.
Myself, the boys, coaches, parents and everyone associated with the Owls are very grateful for ECL’s support and sponsorship.
